Early Intervention Vital in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Care- Clare FM Radio Talk 24.11.22

An Ennis Psychotherapist and Counsellor says the failure to provide early intervention for children and young people with mental health difficulties can have a serious impact down the line.

It follow calls from the Ombudsman for Children for a counselling system to be embedded in schools, saying the implementation of a similar system to the UK could almost eliminate waiting lists for CAMHS.

The model being trialled in Dorset, which allocates about four dedicated mental health professionals per 7,500 school children, has seen considerable success.

Ennis Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Grace Harrison says early invention is vital when it comes to child and adolescent mental health care.
